Lift Training / Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP), Type 1 & Type 3
General Scaffolding Training (up to 9 meters)
The Swedish Work Environment Authority stipulates in AFS 2013:4 that anyone who is directly or indirectly responsible for, plans, or assembles/handles scaffolding must have completed training. This applies regardless of previous experience.
The course consists of preparatory studies followed by an 8-hour instructor-led training day.
Course Content
- Regulations for scaffolding in Sweden
- Risks and safety associated with scaffolding
- Various methods of fall protection during the assembly and dismantling of scaffolding
- Understanding plans for the assembly, dismantling, or alteration of scaffolding
- Methods for the upward and downward transport/lifting of scaffolding materials
- Different types and brands of prefabricated scaffolding
- Anchoring of scaffolding
Upon completion of the course and a passed theoretical exam, a personal training certificate is issued.
Specialized Scaffolding Training
The Swedish Work Environment Authority stipulates in AFS 2013:4 and 2004:4 that anyone who is directly or indirectly responsible for, plans, or assembles/handles scaffolding must have completed training. This applies regardless of previous experience.
This certification is required for heights over nine meters or for more complex scaffolding structures. Before the course, approximately 40 hours of preparatory studies must be completed, followed by approximately 40 hours of instructor-led training (5 working days).
Course Content (according to Annex 3 in AFS 2013:4)
- Thorough review of scaffolding regulations in Sweden
- General principles for the assembly of tube and coupler scaffolding
- Review of different types and brands of prefabricated scaffolding and couplers
- How scaffolding can be used in ways other than those specified in the instructions
- Methods for fall protection during assembly and dismantling
- Methods for the transport and lifting of scaffolding materials
- Anchoring of scaffolding
- Cladding/encasement of scaffolding
- Dimensioning of scaffolding
- Orientation regarding special scaffolding constructions
Upon completion, a personal training certificate is issued, along with a diploma listing the course content and a physical ID card.
Additional Training on Weather Protection
The Swedish Work Environment Authority stipulates in AFS 2013:4 that anyone who is directly or indirectly responsible for, plans, or assembles/handles weather protection on scaffolding must have completed training. Before the course, you must complete approximately 16 hours of preparatory studies, followed by approximately 16 hours of instructor-led training (2 working days).
Course Content (according to Annex 3 in AFS 2013:4):
- A thorough review of regulations for weather protection in Sweden
- General principles for the assembly of weather protection
- Review of different types of weather protection
- How weather protection and scaffolding can be combined
Upon completion of the training and a theoretical exam, a personal training certificate is issued.
